Lady Dragon, Tela Du Cover Reveal

This must be the week for Dragons. Today, we have a friend of mine on the blog with her cover reveal for her book named Lady Dragon, Tela Du by Kendra Ardnek. It looks like a unique book and I love the cover!

About the Book

Two girls with one face
Two girls with twisted fate
One in purple, one in red
One shall speak the other’s death
Who shall win their final war?
Lady Dragon or Tela Du?

Amber, the Lady Dragon, has been promised a fifty-year reign over Rizkaland and nothing can stop her from claiming it. But when you've lived six thousand years, fifty is such a pitiful number. Only one person can keep her from making this reign permanent - the Tela Du, a girl who shall share Amber's face.

The last thing Petra wants is a magical world interrupting her plans for a normal life, let alone an ultimate battle against the Lady Dragon with only one prophesied survivor. She has her childhood best friend, Reuben, at her side, but she's not sure if he's more of a help or a hindrance right now. Though she'd much prefer to just return home and forget about this whole crazy affair, things change when she discovers that the world has surprising connections to her own family - including her sister who disappeared without a trace two years before. Still, Rizkaland can't possibly expect her to risk her very life, can it?

Author Interview

1. If someone is brand new to your work, what book do you think they should start with?
It really depends on what they're interested in. For lovers of fairy tale retellings, I'd recommend starting with Sew It's a Quest (granted, though, this was my first work and it really shows) or "CinderEddy." (Which is a short story, so a safe risk - and free today!). I'd recommend The Ankulen to any fellow Christain writer, because its about authors and Christianity. Of course, Water Princess, Fire Prince is also a good place to start, since that is my best book thus far, and the first book of its series. I'd recommend it to anyone who loved Narnia as a child.

2. Do you have any other creative outlets besides writing?
I've dabbled in pretty much every creative outlet you can name - art (I actually did the silhouettes on LDTD's cover myself), knitting, crochet, a little bit of programming, video creation, caligraphy, dress up ...

Writing's just my tried and true.

3. Would you share your favorite (or one of your favorite) bible verse? And tell us why it’s your favorite?
The verse that came to mind is Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, sayeth the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end." It's a great reminder of how God's in control, and His plan is good, a promise I've had to rely on many times in my life, and a constant theme in my writing.

Granite and Amber are among my favorite couples, even though she’s the villain. Why? Because he manages to stay faithful, and even in love with her without ever compromising his own morals. He forgives her every day, even though she doesn’t even think what she’s doing is wrong. It’s a tragic story, really … if only they could have a happy ending…

  1. Thanks so much for taking part in my cover reveal!

Given how the story began life as a blatant retelling of The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, I don't know how unique of a story it is ... but it has changed a lot since I started it ...
